Our Programs

Salons bring actors and playwrights together to read ten-minute excerpts of new plays in a welcoming, casual environment.

We host 9 Salons per year with a blend of Zoom and in-person. Email Max@WhiskeyTheatreFactory.com to be added to the invite list. Space is always limited, so RSVP quickly!

Plays in Progress consists of high-quality table readings of new plays, followed by dramaturg-led feedback. Also includes pre- and post-sessions with dramaturg as needed.

We host 8 Plays in Progress every year. Playwrights must bring an excerpt of the play to a Salon before they will be considered.

The two-week, new play development intensive provides playwrights with table readings, feedback, rehearsals, and sessions with a dramaturg. This experience culminates in a staged reading for an audience.

We produce 2 Distilleries a year. Scripts must receive a Plays in Progress reading before they will be considered.

Our playwright-forward productions invite playwrights to attend rehearsals and work closely with the director. We also provide a dramaturg to work with the playwright throughout the process. We do not ask for world premiere rights and allow for minor revisions throughout.

We produce one show a year. Scripts must go through the Distillery process before being considered for a production.

After Whiskey Theatre Factory produces a script, our leadership and Board of Directors works with the playwright to complete the final draft and connect with our network of regional theatres across the country.

Our goal is that each play that goes through our process will receive a professional world premiere production within two years.

Every year, Whiskey Theatre Factory’s Collective chooses a play written by one of our Collective to submit to the Orlando Fringe Festival.

Plays must be a maximum of 60 minutes. Preference is given to plays read in Salons.

Final selection is determined by the Orlando Fringe Festival through a lottery process and selection is not guarenteed.
