Director’s Note

Good Evening!

Party to Grief is something I wanted to be a part of from the moment I heard the title because many of us know what it means to be subject to grief.

Grief is not a single moment or a neat arc. It is something we move through, circle back to, resist, perform around, and sometimes sit beside quietly. So, in this collection of stories we present you with an invitation to sit together in the complexity of being human, to acknowledge what has been lost, what remains, and what continues to shape us long after the moment has passed.

My hope is that you see yourself in these stories and as we move through this journey together, I hope the weight of grief feels a little lighter.

Thank you for being here.

Performers

  • Audra Darbyshire

Audra is honored to work on her first production with the artists at Whiskey Theater Factory to collaborate on bringing new works to the stage. She has previously performed on stage at Theater on the Edge's productions of Say Goodnight, Gracie and Fifth Planet, as well as locally produced films including Stone in a Still Lake, Eternity Road, and Snow Globe.

  • Joshua Lee Fulmer

Joshua is a software engineer turned Meisner trained actor with recent credits including Mike in Fifth Planet and Jerry in Say Goodnight, Gracie. Even more than performing, he has fallen in love with the collaborative process of theater. Joshua tries to listen and understand just as much as he tries to create and particularly enjoys doing work that focuses on individual relationships. While he can be silly, Josh would like to think of himself as a grounding presence, approaching the work he does with honesty and intention.

  • Weston Allen Kemp

Weston Allen Kemp is a NYC based actor and graduate of Circle In The Square Theatre School. He was last seen onstage as Gus in White at The Off Central in St Petersburg, FL. Other recent Florida roles include Christopher in The Sound Inside (The Off Central), Ty in Sordid Lives (Dr. Phillips Center), Brick in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof (Wildfire Players), Young Man in bash (Valencia College Theatre), Black Stache in Peter and the Starcatcher (Valencia College Theatre) and the title role in Young Dr Jekyll (Winter Park Playhouse) as part of The Florida Festival of New Musicals. Weston is also an Artistic Associate with Whiskey Theatre Factory in Orlando.

  • Alden McDonald

Alden McDonald is an Orlando based actress, writer, producer and director. Alden returned to the US after 8 years in Shanghai where she learned mandarin and 2 years in Paris where she studied Meisner and preformed The Dinner Party and The Importance of Being Ernest at the Theatre de Gouvernail. She is currently working on two films, Metronome and Road-trip and performing Improv at the OCLS Melrose Center stage. Alden founded We Hope to Improv It, an actors group focused on creating shorts. Between takes, she and her husband are raising two teen boys and two dogs- so there seems to be hair everywhere! In her spare time, she takes classes at Truthful Acting and is developing a podcast.

  • Komal Patel

Komal Patel started her acting journey in 2020 with Truthful Acting Studios in Orlando, FL. She is grateful to have been a part of Orlando’s vibrant theater community since 2023 and for having had the opportunity to work with so many talented artists throughout her career. She wants to thank Whiskey Theater Factory for creating a fun and safe environment to express creativity, her mentors, Marco DiGeorge and Robb Maus, for inspiring her love for the art, and her friends and family for their unwavering support.

  • Joscelyn Alisha Rivera

Joscelyn has been training for six years at Truthful Acting Studios, where she’s spent a lot of time exploring emotional depth, truthful storytelling, and detailed character work. Over the years, she’s worked on a range of film projects and staged readings that have helped her understand the kind of actor she wants to be and the stories she wants to tell. More than anything, she genuinely enjoys working with others, taking feedback, and being part of a creative team. Joscelyn is excited to continue learning and telling meaningful stories with people who love this work as much as she does.
